Preliminary Exercise

Continuity task involving filming and editing a character, opening a door, crossing a room, sitting down on a chair opposite another character, with whom he/she exchanged a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule.

This main task should be about 2 minutes; the titles and opening of a new fiction thriller film.

All video and audio material must be original, produced by the candidates with exception of music/audio effects from a copyright free source.

Both preliminary and main task may be done individually or as a group.

Maximum of 4 members per group.

The preliminary task is a sort of practice before we begin our main task. It will get us to grips with filming, editing and organising and shooting a potential film. This will prepare us for a thriller opening and it will be an exciting challenge that I look forward to.
